Bye bye Australia, its been three and a half m0nths, but now it's time to leave. Jules is now to pink to stay and Matt cannot cope with anymore of your "beer"
Good-byeee to Australia, but you're going to love NZ. Especially having whitewashed Aus in the Chappell-Hadlee (or however you spell it)! It was a fun evening in the pub (one of 3 in Fox Glacier) last night as we ran into our Fox Glacier guide and half our group, plus a couple of Merrily drunk New Zealanders watching McCullum get the winning runs. 'Tis a small town Fox Glacier! Even more bizarrely, we bumped into some more of our glacier hiking group at the scenic observation point for Franz-Josef. Most amusing point of the week so far is that Pie cheered the loudest in the bar when NZ hit the winning runs. 2 things you'll appreciate - decent curries (well in Christchurch anyway) and decent beer - well, if you like the dark stuff. Speights dark ale is one of my favourites. Though Monteiths do a nice celtic. But I'm sure you'll find something nice. These NZ beers have some flavour! Have fun - we're seriously regretting only having 19 days here!
As Pol says, the beers and curries are ok here. It's almost like the UK in many ways. Let us know if you do manage to make it back to Auckland in time to see us (in fact Pol and I will be there for most of the day of the 26th too). Otherwise we'll catch you in September.
